- .amr - is a type of Realtone. The quality is typical to that of a telephone. File sizes are small.
- .mp3 - one of the most popular types of sound formats in the world. Compresses cd format preserving most of the quality. But still filesizes are too big for GSM/GPRS unless you have bluetooth but not 3G.
- .wav - windows audio very big in size, not widely used in the wireless industry. Good quality sound.
- .mid - a polyphonic or midi ringtone. Sounds on the file can occur on different layers. Small in size and is now the standard in the mobile phone ringtone industry.
